Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: After The 10 Steps

***Michelle is a girl that grew up next door to me and we attended the same church. Now she's in her early 20s and living the single life. She goes on these dates that are either lovely or horrific. She's slightly terrified at the thought of committing to someone any time soon. And of course, she has the occasional man who really catches her eye and her heart.***

Quick Recap [My last post for Michelle was two weeks ago. In that time, I talked about her 10 cyclical steps of dating men. It covered her trends of how she usually responds to these guys along with how things usually turn out. I felt I had gotten it pretty much right and was looking forward to what she thought of the post.] Read T.G.I.Fridays posts.

This week, I want to talk about her reaction to it. It's been a pretty love-life-less week for Michelle. It happens when your a single girl in a small town getting ready to graduate from college in a month. Her priorities aren't exactly on finding some new guy to flirt with.

Michelle didn't really read the post right when I first wrote it. I read it to her while we were hanging out at our friend Gloria's house because she hadn't had a chance to read it. She said it was pretty darn accurate and was laughing because it fit her with Michael, Terrence, and Darren. Basically everyone that I've mentioned by name on this blog.

Here's what she had to say: "It's pretty accurate and sad at the same time, which brought me to the conclusion that I don't want to handle my relationships like that any longer. I'm ready to start leaving my past where it is so it won't complicate my future or present. Allowing these people to continue to come in and out my life keeps me from getting close to someone new. I'm ready for a fresh start!"

I was happy to read that but a bit worried because I didn't want the post to be negative or an admonition, I wanted it to be funny. But if she changes her behavior and ends up with better results, that's cool. I figured she was doing a good job of keeping her priorities and right now a relationship isn't one of them. But I guess if the right guy came along, she'll be happy to be in a position to break her cycle with him.

By the way, I got a comment on the post that made me think some people don't know these blogs posts are about real people. I changed their names and the names of their guys, but I haven't made up anything about their lives. Trust me, I'm not that creative. My creativity only goes as far as me making the cartoon pics at the top of each blog post.

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: Another Crazy Single Girl Story

***Michelle is a girl that grew up next door to me and we attended the same church. Now she's in her early 20s and living the single life. She goes on these dates that are either lovely or horrific. She's slightly terrified at the thought of committing to someone any time soon. And of course, she has the occasional man who really catches her eye and her heart.***

Last week, I finally got around to telling what happened between Terrence and Michelle. I'm glad to be past that for a while.

Michelle is still single. I guess I could tell the story I never told from last semester about how she had a boyfriend temporarily. I think I will tell the story. I mentioned this guy waaay back in September. He only got a paragraph in a long post that mentioned a couple of guys. Here is the paragraph.
There was this other guy too, who happened to be the fraternity brother of the first guy. He likes Michelle; she sees him as just a friend. She's been enjoying the attention, but not wanting to encourage it by spending too much time with him.
This guy and Michelle hung out a lot last semester. They got to be pretty good friends. He liked and and she liked him well enough. Let me put it this way, he was the only person around she could bear to spend time with. But he decided he really liked her.

He had a dinner party one night and some of his friends who Michelle doesn't really hang out with were there. At the party, one of those friends called her his girlfriend. She was like, "say what?" The guy explains to Michelle that neither of them are dating anyone else. Michelle thinks, "In this town." Then he explains to Michelle that he likes her and she seems to like him too. Michelle thinks, "but there's just no else else I like more, does that count?" Then he explains to Michelle that it feels right to him and no they haven't discussed it, but he thinks they should go with it. Michelle thinks, "what the hell? no discussion. You're a crazy person."

But Michelle says... nothing. At least not right then. I suppose it's not the best conversation to have with a guy in front of his friends that you really don't know well. I had fun joking that she had a boyfriend for a couple of days. It really was funny. But then she let his ass know that you don't just decide someone is your girlfriend, plus she's talking to other people who don't live in Charleston, plus the two of them will never have a serious relationship. Great story, right? I think so.

Now, for the rest of this post, I'm going to discuss what else has been going on with her.

There isn't much going on. Michelle still feels like the men in her world are next to nonexistent in Charleston and sucky everywhere else. She hasn't even mentioned Darren, Terrence, or Michael. That makes me happy because except for me mentioning them right now, they don't deserve to be mentioned.

So there's nothing really new to report. Perhaps next week, I'll link another article for a single girl who hasn't decided whether or not she wants it to be a long-term condition.

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: It Seems These Men Will Never Go Away

***Michelle is a girl that grew up next door to me and we attended the same church. Now she's in her early 20s and living the single life. She goes on these dates that are either lovely or horrific. She's slightly terrified at the thought of committing to someone any time soon. And of course, she has the occasional man who really catches her eye and her heart.***

Last week, I was happy to discuss Darren's demise, even though I had been rooting for him before that happened.

That's usually how things go. Things are great with a new guy, until it falls apart. Then inevitable questions arise.

Whose fault was it? Is this worth fighting for? Do I want to keep this person in my life in some capacity?

I don't know if Michelle is asking herself these questions about these men or not.

It's not like she's had very much time for self-reflection. They won't stay gone long enough for that.

Darren has reached out to her via text message. What did the text say? "Hey buddy."

What.The.Fuck?! Why is it when men make a choice, and that choice isn't you, do they feel the need to keep some interaction?

It's like a deleted scene from Bill Bellamy's "How To Be A Player".

I guess he figured they could keep doing their will-we-be-friends-or-not dance until he sees how things work out with that other chick.

All I can say is that I'm super happy Michelle didn't respond to his text message at all.

Moving on the waste of time that is Michael. He has also reached out to Michelle.

If this guy wants her in his life, why can't he be more proactive about it. Blackberry Messenger IMs talking about how you feel can be useful.

But not when the bulk of your conversation is about how the other person doesn't talk to you as much as they used to. Stop complaining, be proactive!

If you want to see the girl, ask her out dumb ass? But what if she says no? Your punk ass should be able to take the risk if you like her like you think you do.

Would it be better to just sit in the wings and occasionally IM and make yourself seem less and less desirable because you can't take a firm position or consistent behavior?

Michelle has decided that she and Michael are going to be "just friends". She said she's sick of making plans with him only to be stood up or cancelled on at the last moment. I think that's wise.

And moving on to Terrence. He gets back to town today. I can't tell if Michelle is super excited or just regular excited.

I think that she's regular excited for now because she doesn't actually expect to see him today. I believe his plans are to spend this first day back with just him family.

But they've been texting back and forth and he's laying it on pretty thick. So I figure she's well on her way to super excited.

Which is perfectly acceptable. After all, they have quite a history. He's the first boy she ever loved.

And I love that moment, before any concrete interactions have ruined it, when everything is shiny and new and full of potential.

They aren't shiny and new because they have so much history, but because it's been so long since they've seen each other.

They've been in contact while he was away and now they get to see where all this talking and reconnecting will lead.

I'll be glad to report next week how it's going between Michelle and Terrence. And I'm hoping I'll have nothing to add about either Michael or Darren.

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: Introducing Darren

***Michelle is a girl that grew up next door to me and we attended the same church. Now she's in her early 20s and living the single life. She goes on these dates that are either lovely or horrific. She's slightly terrified at the thought of committing to someone any time soon. And of course, she has the occasional man who really catches her eye and her heart.***

Michelle texted or IM'd or had some sort of conversation with Michael last week. She let him know she was coming to Chicago for Thanksgiving.

She gets a whole week off from school, so she drove up last night. Did Michael make plans with her when she told him she was coming? Of course he didn't.

And what is likely to happen is that sometime after Thanksgiving, he will be upset with her that he didn't see her all week. As if somehow that was able to happen outside of his control.

After my usual discussion of how much Michael sucks, I'm going to move on to someone I don't despise yet. His name is Darren.

Darren and Michelle have an interesting connection. From the time they met, there was something there. Something that drew them to each other. But it wasn't that simple. It's never that simple.

They went to different schools, but Darren has recently graduated and moved back to Chicago. And then there's that other thing besides long distance. He used to have an involvement with her cousin.

I've mentioned Michelle's cousins before. I call the Thing 1 and Thing 2 on my blogs. They're twins. Darren's involvement with one of the Things was brief, but it happened.

And it's enough to make Michelle hesitant about getting involved with this man who she finds so interesting.

She was supposed to hang out with him today. Because they get along so well, they are trying to be friends. I'm hoping that enough time will pass that eventually Michelle will get over the couple of weeks he spent talking to her cousin.

Next week, I'm hoping to have an interesting story to tell next Friday about their non-date. Either that or something else interesting that's bound to happen between now and then.

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: Girls Night Out Will NOT Be Cancelled For A Man

***Michelle is a girl that grew up next door to me and we attended the same church. Now she's in her early 20s and living the single life. She goes on these dates that are either lovely or horrific. She's slightly terrified at the thought of committing to someone any time soon. And of course, she has the occasional man who really catches her eye and her heart.***

Since I was super busy earlier this week and didn't get around to writing a post about Camille or Gloria this week, I'll write about our girls' night out on Michelle's day.

We had dinner at Grand Lux Cafe downtown. I love that restaurant so much! We had a lot of fun talking and laughing and catching up.

We discussed plans for this upcoming New Year's Eve. Gloria let us know that she and Gregory were doing a family thing with their boys that night. Another of our friends and her boyfriend and doing a couples thing too.

The rest of us booed them and continued making our plans. We've got to figure out something. Michelle in particular expressed a desire to have a fun New Year's Eve because she's hasn't had one in a while.

After dinner, I wanted us to go out somewhere for drinks and maybe dancing so we could attract some men. But everyone was so sleepy that we just headed home. There used to a time when we never wanted to go home. Now everyone is concerned about a good night's sleep. I guess we're getting older and that's natural...

Michelle did hear from Michael last weekend though. He was upset that she didn't tell him she was coming to town. She told him she didn't think she had a reason to when he couldn't manage to make time for her the last weekend she was in Chicago which was her birthday weekend!

He was genuinely upset that she wouldn't change her plans to hang out with him or to include him in our girls' night. I don't know if she ended up seeing him before she left on Sunday, but I doubt it because we weren't done at church until almost 7 pm.

Why is it that men feel justified being upset when a woman behaves inconsistently when that inconstancy is a reaction to the man's fucking up in the first place??

The only reason Michelle didn't tell Michael she wasn't in town is because he was MIA her birthday weekend and then she didn't hear from him for weeks after that. And then he wanted her to change her plans to see him when he wouldn't do the same for her on her birthday weekend?! I just don't get it.

I'm all for second chances. But you have to draw the line when it's more like a sixteenth chance. I guess we'll see what happens. But when I pray for Michelle, one of the things I pray for is that she finds another guy to be her main focus. One who's not inconsistent, or engaged, or weird.

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: Partying Alone? Not If She Can Help It

I ended my last post about Michelle on a hopeful note. I was hopeful that soon, I would be able to write about something other than how much guys suck. That is not the case yet.

Michael sucks! He just does. I will be a much happier person when Michelle is done with him for ever and I never have to ask about him again. By not asking about him, I won't have to hear a disappointing answer. That will be a great time.

Michelle is coming to visit Chicago next weekend and we were discussing maybe going out to dinner and having a girls' night out. That sounds like fun, but we've got to find a party to go to as well.

I guess I'm not really looking for anyone for myself (I've pretty much decided it's much less stressful to only date one person at a time), but it will be fun to try and help Michelle find someone. So I have to figure out where we should go for drinks/dancing after dinner. Spontaneity is good, but to ensure a successful manhunt, there should be planning.

This weekend, Michelle's school is having this black student reunion. She's been looking forward to this for a while now. So maybe this weekend will yield an interesting story.

Michelle met this guy while out with a friend a few weeks ago. But she said he had horrible shoes, was kind of short, and acted a bit odd. I'm hoping she doesn't run into him again while she's out this weekend. What I'd like to see happen is for her to reconnect with some guy she had interest in who isn't on campus anymore. That would be more exciting, don't you think?

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: How To Meet A Worthwhile Man

***Michelle is a girl that grew up next door to me and we attended the same church. Now she's in her early 20s and living the single life. She goes on these dates that are either lovely or horrific. She's slightly terrified at the thought of committing to someone any time soon. And of course, she has the occasional man who really catches her eye and her heart.***

I was talking to Michelle about my man issues and an accidental text message I sent. She then told me she accidentally IM'd Michael. I was hoping she would have no contact with him any time in the present because he sucks!

So I asked who she meant to IM, and she told me it was only a pseudo accident. And then after she IM'd him, she didn't respond when he wrote back. I find that incredibly amusing. He was sending her messages like, "you there?", and "hey, what's going on?"

It's just nice when a guy who usually acts as if he doesn't at all shows he does. Unfortunately, it's not good enough. He should show that he cares all the time. Is that too hard to ask? I don't think so.

I told Michelle I was taking her on a man hunt because she said she never meets men that are worthwhile when she goes out. I have incredibly good luck when I go out. I haven't been to a party in a very long time where I didn't meet a man except Bad's, Michelle's, and my birthday party.

I'm hoping that if I take Michelle out, we can meet some men. And hopefully two of them are worthwhile. Cause it's about time we dealt with men who I'm not writing a post about just to say they suck.

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: There Was Play, Now There's Work (And Some Play Too)

***Michelle is a girl that grew up next door to me and we attended the same church. Now she's in her early 20s and living the single life. She goes on these dates that are either lovely or horrific. She's slightly terrified at the thought of committing to someone any time soon. And of course, she has the occasional man who really catches her eye and her heart.***

Michelle's bday was last Friday and I believe she had a fantastic time! She did have a bit too much to drink, and therefore had to be reminded of some of her night. But it was all fun.

It felt like the end of The Hangover on Sunday. We were at church, eating food after morning service and she pulls out her camera.

She says, we're only going to look at these once, and then we're going to delete the ones that shouldn't ever be seen by anyone. We prepared ourselves for craziness and wild times.

And when we started looking at photos, we realized there was nothing too risque. It was just normal party pics! There were a couple with people dancing, and lots of folks just taking pictures together looking drunk as hell. The few compromising moments I noticed weren't captured on camera. But it's okay, cause I remember them! They were some of the things I had to explain to Michelle about her night, haha.

In the week since her birthday, Michelle has been on study central. She had two midterms yesterday and has another one Monday. But she did go out last night to celebrate being mostly done. She sent me an IM talking about being old enough now to be a cougar. There was some sophomore kid there trying to push up on her. She eventually told him no, but that was more about the fact that he was 5'4" rather than he was 12 years old. Part of me wishes she would have taken his number, if only for the funny story that would come out of a date between the two of them.

By the way, Michael still sucks in my book. He reached out to Michelle a couple days ago as if he hadn't been MIA her entire birthday weekend. She told him his behavior wasn't okay and he did the typical guy thing by playing stupid and acting confused. She says she doesn't think she'll be talking to him for a while. I'd prefer that she doesn't talk to him ever again. But I can't expect behavior I couldn't manage to do myself.

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: Go Michelle, It's Your Birthday, Go Michelle, It's Your Birthday!!!

Michelle's Manhunt last weekend down at school didn't provide much blog-worthy story, but she still had fun. But I do have another crazy story. Super Fertile Frat Boy is a dog of unexpected proportions! I mentioned him in a previous T.G.I.Friday post as the guy with the pregnant girlfriend. Either way, since that time, he and Michelle have studied together a few times and he is a big flirt. She had no intentions of getting involved with him, but was enjoying the attention.

Then Michelle finds out that Super Fertile Frat Boy is not only flirting with her most days out the week, he's also got the pregnant girlfriend, and he's still talking to his ex. By talking I mean, conversing, flirting, leaving open the possibility for something to develop. World class jerk this guy is! I can't wait for Michelle to graduate from school is this is the best option available to her at the school.

Update on Michael, he isn't coming to our birthday party tonight because he SUCKS! It's not like Camille's Malik, who wasn't even invited, this guy should be here. It's Michelle's freaking birthday. If you supposedly want to be with someone and you are in town and not working during the party and you were invited to the party, come to the damn party. Why is that not a no-brainer?!

I say, forget those men, I'm going to make sure Michelle has a great time tonight with her real friends. Today is her birthday after all. I'm really looking forward to when she and her sister, and Bad and Jordan, and Camille get on down here to the hotel room we have booked for the night. We will pre-game for our party and she will have the best birthday she's had in years! That is the plan, and I'm sure (very sure) it will turn out that way!

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: Funny-acting Man Leads To A Manhunt

***Michelle is a girl that grew up next door to me and we attended the same church. Now she's in her early 20s and living the single life. She goes on these dates that are either lovely or horrific. She's slightly terrified at the thought of committing to someone any time soon. And of course, she has the occasional man who really catches her eye and her heart.***

In the last post, I wrote about how Michael stood Michelle up the last time she was in town. Now I hear he's not coming to our birthday party because he's either got an early morning the next day or something that night. This sucks because anyone who's ever dated a Libra knows how important birthdays are to us. You make exceptions and fix your schedule to be with a Libra on their birthday and you are in! But Michael apparently isn't concerned about that.

Michelle said she's not dwelling on it. It's not like they had an argument or a falling out, he's just "funny-acting". That means that he's hot then he's cold, he's yes then he's no, he's in then he's out, he's up then he's down. She doesn't need this crap from him. But in true Libra style, he's not been told to fuck off and likely won't be until she has a reasonable replacement for him. Why are Libra women like that (and the men too if I look at Bad's behavior over the years before he and Jordan were a couple)? I don't know, we just are.

So Michelle and one of her friends at school have come up with a plan to find a new man to replace the funny-acting one. They're going on a manhunt this weekend. She lives in a town that doesn't have much besides her school so it should make for a funny story if nothing else.

Michelle said this. "It should be interesting, everybody who's available is underclassman or hoe." My response was, "so you're going searching for two guys who aren't 12 or diseased? That is so going in my blog!" Just to clarify, I refer to anyone who's too young to date as being 12 years old. And I assume anyone who sleeps around with reckless abandon is probably diseased but hopefully with the curable stuff.

So I'm looking forward to being able to post next Friday about the results of her manhunt. And the hopeless romantic part of me is also hoping that Michael changes his mind about coming to our birthday party. Who cares if you have an early morning, just don't go out the next night too, duh!

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: Looking For A "School Boo"

***Michelle is a girl that grew up next door to me and we attended the same church. Now she's in her early 20s and living the single life. She goes on these dates that are either lovely or horrific. She's slightly terrified at the thought of committing to someone any time soon. And of course, she has the occasional man who really catches her eye and her heart.***

Quick Recap [The last time I wrote about Michelle, I was talking about the time period right before she went back to school. It's been five weeks since then. Wow, that's a long time. But Date B wanted her time and so did Michael. She had to split up her time before heading back to school carefully. So, how did it turn out?] Read the TGIFridays posts.

Well, she chose Michael. I'm not surprised by that. One could guess that from the fact that he has a name and not a date letter! But that was then and now I must tell a quick recap of the last five weeks.

Michelle has been back to visit the city twice since she went away to school. Stupid Michael! I say that because she's only seen him once. I don't know if him going to visit her isn't a option (I haven't asked), but when she's in town, why can't he make time to see her, especially when she gives days of notice before she gets here. He's definitely exhibiting behavior which is familiar to me. It's called he's-just-not-that-into-you behavior.

The person in me that always wants to give the benefit of the doubt doesn't want to completely down him. Maybe he is into her and he just doesn't know how to show it...? Maybe he's super sensitive and isn't really able to deal with the fact that she seems to be moving on into her life with or without him...? I don't know what it is. But I don't like hearing from her that he stood her up. Even if it does mean we get to get our Sex and the City on by having martinis at our favorite bar.

On to the point of the title of this post. Michelle is bored when it comes to guys. There isn't anyone at her school she wants to date. In fact, I don't think she's been on a date in the last five weeks. That Date B guy is out of the picture, he was a mess anyway. But at her school, there should at least be someone to flirt with and hang out with. But alas, tis not to be this semester. No new transfers, no one has gotten hot over the summer.

There was this one guy who flirted with her at the beginning. He was a guy in her major who she was having her first class with. She noticed him noticing her and noticed him too. Then she found out that he had a girlfriend. Who he had been with for a while. Who was pregnant. Which begged the question, "why are you flirting with me?!"

There was this other guy too, who happened to be the fraternity brother of the first guy. He likes Michelle; she sees him as just a friend. She's been enjoying the attention, but not wanting to encourage it by spending too much time with him.

So basically, she's having a lot of false starts. The semester is 1/3 over at this point and still no school boo. Her Chicago boo is sometimes full of crap, so Michelle's love life doesn't seem to awesome right now. But I imagine it will improve sooner rather than later. And even if it doesn't improve to the point of her having a guy, there will always be silly/crazy/funny stories to share.

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays: Double Booking Just For Fun

***Michelle is a girl that grew up next door to me and we attended the same church. Now she's in her early 20s and living the single life. She goes on these dates that are either lovely or horrific. She's slightly terrified at the thought of committing to someone any time soon. And of course, she has the occasional man who really catches her eye and her heart.***

Quick Recap [I just introduced Michelle into my blogs a couple weeks ago and wrote about her love life on this one last week. I spoke of how she is pretty much happily single, but does enjoy dating. I talked about this date she went on that was horrible, soooo horrible. And I also mentioned a guy Michael. He's this guy she met in school and the one guy who has the best chance of winning her heart, if only he'd consistently try to win her heart. He does this infuriating combo of wanting to spend time with her and then pulling back because he's spending too much time with her when really all the time spent was his idea! Very infuriating, right?] Read Michelle's posts.

Michelle heads back to start her school year in two days. That makes me happy when it comes to Michael because he will be in Chicago and will probably switch to I-miss-you mode and therefore appear generally more interested in her. They're supposed to be going out at some point today because this will really be her last opportunity to see him before she's gone until either her birthday (Libra!!) or maybe just Labor Day.

But here's the twist. There is this other guy, who I'll call Date B, who also wants to see Michelle today. He knows she's about to head back to school, so he texted her last night (while we were having a girl's night at a great bar downtown) to request to spend time with her today. Michelle didn't immediately say no. She is supposed to share today between her cousins (Thing 1 and Thing 2), Michael, and finishing packing. Yet somehow, Date B is now going to be worked into the equation? I can't wait to find out how that ends.

So, Date B is this guy Michelle met through her Thing 1 and Thing 2. She spends a lot of time with her twin cousins because they are the same age and they all went to college together; the twins graduated last year. Date B is a friend of a "boo" of one Thing 1 (yes, I've assigned a specific twin at Thing 1 or Thing 2 AKA Chocolate Thunda). Michelle met him and immediately liked him for one reason alone: his looks. I completely understand this. We all have that one person we can remember being sooo into, but acknowledging it wasn't based on anything but their God-given beauty. She and this guy don't have any sort of deep connection, but she likes spending time with him. I like being around pretty things too, that's why I like parks with lots of flowers and museums. Anyone can agree a date that will go no higher than a 7 or 8 on a 10-point scale, will always be made better by having your date be an exceptional piece of eye candy.

I'll let you know next week if she managed to squeeze all three obligations into her day, or if she ended up blowing off Michael for Date B (she did jokingly say that was an option).

Michelle's T.G.I.Fridays

Today's blog post isn't titled Focus on Me Friday anymore. Why is that you ask? It's because I don't want to talk about my love life on this blog anymore. I have more to say (sometimes) than what can be covered on one day per week. Also, it's because my girl Michelle has a pretty interesting love life as well. So now any discussion of my love life will pop up on my main blog, A Researcher of Life.

To bring you up to speed on Michelle, you need to know two guys. One I'll call Michael on my blogs, the other will be Date A. I'll start with Date A. His name is of no consequence and he may never be mentioned again. He's just a guy she had a date with Wednesday night. She went to elementary school with this guy and they reconnected on Facebook. He kept suggesting they go out and finally, she was like, eh, why not? He looked good enough on his Facebook picture, and he seemed pretty cool.

They get out, and it turns out Date A sucks! Not in a general sucky way, but in a totally-at-odds-with-her-preferences-for-men kind of way. First of, he's way too churchy. Not really a bad thing in general, but horrible for Michelle. I get that as well. I'm super involved in my church, but I'm no holy roller. This applies to Michelle too. This Date A guy definitely had holy roller potential. Also, his behavior and affectations were incredibly feminine, a little too feminine for Michelle's tastes. And they had nothing in common that she likes to have in common with a guy: music, conversation topics, sense of style, sense of humor. Oh, and he looked very little like his picture, as in, not nearly as good looking. It just didn't go well. In fact, Michael texted her while she was on the date to see what she was doing and it took all of her home training to not ditch him right at that moment. She will not be dating Date A again.

This would be a good time to move onto Michael. He is a guy who went to college with Michelle (she's in her last year of college by the way) for one year. During that year, they got very close. After talking for about four months, he suggested they be in a relationship. She said she wasn't ready. Two months after that, she suggested it and he said that wasn't what he wanted anymore. They've been having this back and forth since then. He's not at her school anymore, he's in Chicago. They've been spending time together while she was home for parts of the summer. When she talks about him, her face just lights up. I personally am not a fan of him (mostly not a fan of his hot/cold treatment of her), but I am a fan of that happy look he puts of her face. We'll see what will become of Michelle and Michael and also what letter of the alphabet we get up to on these crazy dates of hers.
